Don’t Even Think About WordPress

by Susan Pomeroy

don't even think about wordpress

We’re all struggling. For some of us, it’s an illness. For others, financial burdens, even desperation. It could be relationships or family issues that fill us with concern and anxiety. It could be our own performance. Our virtues and vices, our private struggles for goodness or happiness or wealth. Our entire planet’s future, hanging in the balance. In fact sometimes it seems to me that my own worries, however truly profound or trivial they are, expand to fill all available space.

And what has WordPress got to do with this, you ask. Why should I think about WordPress when the fate of myself, my spouse, my child or parent, my country, my world, is in doubt?

Answer: you shouldn’t.

WordPress is a tool. Like the cars we drive, it’s there to get us from one place to another. From having no website, or a website that requires actual coding to make the simplest changes, or a website that doesn’t bring in any business, to having a website that helps build a business. It’s a vehicle, something that, once we learn to drive it, we use without even thinking. It’s there to help us get from where we are now, to where we’d rather be.

DIY wordpressBut when you have to think about it, when things aren’t working right, when something goes wrong, when your site is slow or non-responsive, when your blog posts disappear, when people don’t visit, when you actually ARE worrying about it, well, then it’s time to take your site to the mechanic, just as you would your car when the engine light comes on or it starts making a strange noise.

If you are the DIY type and love changing your own oil, cleaning your own spark plugs, and talking to the guys down at the auto parts store, more power to you. Truly.

But if you’d rather spend your time doing other things, things you enjoy more, or are better at, or are more profitable for you, then it’s time to call a professional.

That’s me, or someone like me.

What can a professional do for you?

  1. Analyze and identify the issues.
  2. Formulate a solution, or more than one solution.
  3. Implement.

In other words, problem solved. Usually, there is more than one way to resolve an issue, and you can be offered an array of options which vary in complexity, time required, and cost, from which to choose.

So why should you think about WordPress? You shouldn’t think about it at all. It exists to make our lives easier, simpler, more fun, more abundant, more empowered. That’s what I love about it, and that’s why I’m here to help.
